
Operatives of the Ondo State Police Command have rescued 12 passengers abducted early Saturday by suspected kidnappers in Akoko South East Local Government Area.
The victims were travelling from Benue State to Ibadan on an 18-passenger bus when armed men intercepted the vehicle at Isua and forced several passengers into a nearby forest. According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, Abayomi Jimoh, the command received a distress report at about 1:30 a.m. that two commercial Hummer buses had been violently attacked.

Police immediately deployed operatives alongside local hunters to the scene. The combined team mounted sustained pressure on the kidnappers, leading to the rescue of 12 victims, including the drivers of the affected buses.
Jimoh said the rescued passengers are receiving medical attention and support, with arrangements underway to reunite them with their families. He added that operations are ongoing to rescue the remaining victims and arrest the suspects behind the attack.
