Security operatives in Edo State have rescued a mother and her three children who were abducted from a farm in Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area of the state.
The victims, identified as 40-year-old Patience Omonete and her children aged 14, 12 and 10, were reportedly kidnapped on September 3, 2026, at Onomi Farm.
The Edo State Police Command, through its spokesperson, ASP Eno Ikoedem, said the victims were rescued following a coordinated operation led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Okpella.
The operation involved personnel of the Nigeria Police Force, Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) and local hunters, who combed the forest around Onomi-Iddo in search of the victims.
According to the police, sustained pressure from the security team forced the kidnappers to abandon the victims in the forest.
Patience and her three children were subsequently rescued unhurt and reunited with their family.

In a separate incident, police also rescued a 49-year-old woman, Rita Emma, who was abducted alongside her husband in Iruekpen, Esan West Local Government Area.
Emma was rescued during a joint bush-combing operation involving the police, Police Mobile Force 82 Squadron, Nigerian Army, ESSC and local vigilantes.
The police said the victim was found almost unconscious in the forest and was immediately taken to a hospital for medical attention.
A 32-year-old man, identified as Alhassan Adamu, was arrested in connection with the incident and transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for further investigation.
The police said efforts were ongoing to rescue Emma’s husband and apprehend other members of the suspected kidnapping gang.
Authorities also urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to provide security agencies with useful information that could help combat kidnapping and other criminal activities across the state.
