
Police operatives in Delta State have rescued a 60-year-old man who was abducted in Alisime Village, Agbor, following a gun battle with suspected kidnappers.
The victim was rescued unharmed on September 4, 2026, after operatives of the Agbor Police Division, working alongside forest guards and local security personnel, acted on intelligence concerning his abduction.
According to the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the security team mobilised to the area at about 6:00 p.m. and engaged the suspected kidnappers.
The suspects reportedly fled into the bush after sustaining suspected gunshot injuries during the encounter.

Following the rescue operation, the police recovered a mobile phone and an ATM card from the scene.
SP Edafe said the area was subsequently cordoned off as security operatives launched a manhunt for the fleeing suspects.
The rescued victim was said to be in good condition after being freed from his abductors.
