The Niger State Police Command has arrested 21 suspected thugs during separate raids on criminal hotspots in Minna and recovered several dangerous weapons and other illicit items.
The arrests followed targeted operations carried out by operatives from the Kpakungu and Chanchaga Divisions as part of efforts to curb criminal activities across the state.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, operatives of the Kpakungu Division raided Angwan-Kanawa, Kpakungu, on August 24 at about 9:30 p.m., arresting six suspects.
The suspects were identified as Sani Ibrahim, 18; Abdulkareem Hassan, 20; Salmanu Ishaq, 18; Nasiru Mukhtar, 18; Suleiman Yusuf, 18; and Abdulsalam Shuaibu.
Police said the suspects were found with suspected cannabis, a cutlass, two scissors, a black bag and other items believed to be connected to criminal activities.
In another operation the following night, three more suspects were arrested at Marikichi while allegedly engaged in a fight.

The police said one of the suspects, Mustapha Abdulkadir, allegedly used a cutlass to injure Ibrahim Mohammed on the right hand. The injured suspect was taken to a nearby hospital, while the three suspects were subsequently charged to court.
Meanwhile, operatives of the Chanchaga Division conducted another raid around Angwan-Dakoko, Angwan-Kwakwa and Angwan-Gwari at about 12:30 a.m. on September 1.
Twelve suspected miscreants were arrested during the operation. Among them were 25-year-old Victor Solomon, also known as Tumbeleke, who was allegedly found carrying a sharp dagger, and 17-year-old Osama Saidu Baushe, who was allegedly found with a sharp sword.
The police command said the suspects remain in custody as investigations continue, with prosecution to follow where necessary.
The Niger State Police Command reiterated its commitment to tackling criminal activities and maintaining peace and security across the state.
