The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has appealed to members of the public for assistance in locating the family of a six-year-old boy who was found wandering in Abuja.
The boy, identified as Haneem Hussaini Bello, reportedly travelled to Abuja from Bauchi State with his mother and siblings for the summer holiday.
According to the police, Haneem became separated from his family while they were at the Central Mosque in Abuja for Juma’a prayers. He was subsequently unable to locate his mother and siblings.
The child was later found crying and wandering around the NNPC Towers in the Central Business District of Abuja at about 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026.
At the time he was found, Haneem was reportedly wearing carton-coloured trousers and a brown shirt with black and white stripes on the left side.
The police said the boy is currently in their custody while efforts are being made to identify and locate his parents or other relatives.
