A commercial cyclist, Nura Yusuf, who had been missing for several weeks, has been found dead inside an uncompleted building around the Gas Pipeline area of Unguwar Sabo-Tasha, along the Abaji-Gwagwalada Road in the Federal Capital Territory.
Yusuf, a native of Bagwa Local Government Area of Kano State, reportedly picked up passengers heading towards the Gas Pipeline area before he went missing.
A close friend of the deceased, Ibrahim Baba, said the cyclist was believed to have been strangled.
Baba disclosed that farmers heading to their farms discovered Yusuf’s decomposing body on Saturday after noticing a foul smell coming from the uncompleted building.
He said, “It was some farmers who were going to the farms that discovered the body following a bad odour from the area. They moved closer and discovered the body.”
According to him, Yusuf had been declared missing for several weeks before his remains were discovered. His phone was also unreachable throughout the period.

Baba said the police were alerted immediately after the discovery and officers from the Abaji Division were mobilised to the scene.
A police source confirmed the incident, explaining that the body had decomposed significantly by the time officers arrived.
“Upon the arrival of policemen at the scene, the body had already decomposed, so the corpse was buried at the scene,” the source said.
Yusuf, who lived in Abaji town, reportedly left behind a pregnant wife.
The circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear, while the police are expected to investigate the incident and determine what led to his disappearance and death.
