
A suspected cult member has died while allegedly attempting to escape arrest by police operatives in Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The incident occurred at about 1:20 p.m. on Sunday in the Kajola area of Ikenne, following a complaint by a resident identified as Anuolatoberu, who reportedly alerted the police after suspected cult members allegedly threatened his life.
According to a report shared on X on Monday by security analyst Zagazola Makama, police investigations and intelligence gathering indicated that the complainant had allegedly been ambushed by suspected cult members in the area.
Following the complaint, police operatives were deployed to Kajola, where they arrested one of the suspects identified as Oluwatimileyin Daniel.

Other suspected members of the group reportedly fled the area when the police arrived.
One of the fleeing suspects, identified as Damola, allegedly collapsed while attempting to escape arrest.
He was reportedly rushed to a hospital for medical attention but later died.
The development reportedly created tension and confusion in the community, prompting security personnel to increase their presence in the area.
The situation was subsequently brought under control, while police investigations into the alleged cult activities and circumstances surrounding the suspect’s death are ongoing.
