The Registrar of the Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna), Mallam Danladi, has survived a fatal road crash in Minna, Niger State, which claimed the life of a woman and left two others injured.
The accident occurred on Sunday, August 23, 2026, along I.E.T. New Horizons Road, around the Old Airport Quarters area of Minna.
According to eyewitnesses, the vehicle conveying the registrar lost control after one of its tyres reportedly burst while it was in motion.
The vehicle veered off the road and struck a woman identified as Aisha Ahmed and a commercial motorcyclist. Ahmed was reportedly negotiating a fare with the motorcyclist when the crash occurred.
Residents and passers-by rushed the victims to the Senator Idris Kuta Primary Health Care Centre in Old Airport Quarters. Ahmed was later confirmed dead.

The motorcyclist and another injured person were subsequently referred to a nearby hospital for further treatment and were reportedly responding to treatment.
The registrar also reportedly became unconscious following the shock of the accident and was taken to a hospital for medical attention. He was said to be in stable condition at the time of filing the report.
The crash has sparked concern among residents over road safety in the area, while efforts to obtain comments from relevant authorities were unsuccessful as of press time.
