
A 55-year-old man, identified as Idowu Alade, has escaped from a kidnappers’ den in Ondo State, following his abduction in the Idoani area of Ose Local Government Area.
Alade was reportedly abducted on August 21, 2026, at about 6:00 p.m. after leaving his residence at Aroge Camp, Idoani, to purchase a recharge card.
According to the Ondo State Police Command, the victim failed to return home, prompting members of the community to begin searching for him the following morning.
The police said operatives from the Idoani Division, working alongside personnel of the Amotekun Corps, Ose Bravers Vigilante Group and local hunters, launched a coordinated search and bush-combing operation to locate the victim.

In a dramatic turn of events, Alade reportedly escaped from the kidnappers’ hideout at about 4:00 a.m. on August 23, while his captors were asleep. He eventually made his way out through the Ifira area.
The police said security operatives, acting on credible intelligence, quickly located and secured the victim before taking him for medical attention for injuries allegedly sustained during the ordeal.
Following the rescue, a red alert was reportedly issued across the area, leading to the interception and arrest of two suspects identified as Usman Shaibu, 25, and Sanni Musa, 27.
The police said investigation into the incident is ongoing as efforts continue to apprehend other members of the suspected kidnapping syndicate.
