Former Real Madrid striker Michael Owen believes only two clubs have what it takes to challenge Arsenal for the Premier League title next season.
Arsenal have already clinched this season’s league crown and will face Crystal Palace in their final match on Sunday evening. Attention is now shifting to who can mount a serious title race in the 2026/27 campaign.
Speaking to Metro UK, Owen said the main threat will come from Manchester. He expects Manchester City to remain strong even if Pep Guardiola departs, pointing to their close title race with Arsenal this season and their success in two domestic cups as signs they will return stronger.

Owen also tipped Manchester United as potential contenders under manager Michael Carrick. He noted that United’s form since Carrick took charge has improved significantly and puts them firmly in the conversation for next season’s title race.
The former England forward added that Liverpool are not yet at the level required to challenge, suggesting the battle for the Premier League will likely be a three-way fight involving Arsenal and the two Manchester clubs.
