
A Kano-based social media political commentator, Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu, has been found dead at his residence in Gaida, Kano State.
Dan Shagamu’s body was reportedly discovered in a pool of blood at his home, sparking concerns and calls for an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
Former Kano State Governor and opposition politician, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, raised the alarm over the incident, describing the killing as a horrific attack and urging the Kano State Government to investigate and ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

Amnesty International Nigeria also condemned the killing, stressing that outspoken critics and commentators should be protected in a democratic society.
The Kano State Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, Husaini Mai Riga, described the incident as deeply disturbing and unacceptable. He called on security agencies to identify and prosecute those behind the killing while urging authorities to strengthen protection for journalists and other media practitioners in the state.
