Suspected bandits have killed a man and abducted his wife during an attack on Karofi community in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The attack occurred on Sunday night, October 25, following weeks of relative calm in the community.
The victim, identified as Ya’u Faduma, was reportedly killed before the gunmen took his wife away.
The incident happened barely three days after another woman, 25-year-old Rukayya, wife of Sule Mai Kaji, was abducted in the same community on October 23.
Residents said the latest attack had heightened fears and renewed concerns about the safety of people in the area.
A resident identified as Babangida Karofi said the repeated killings and abductions had left community members worried about their security.

Another resident, Maikudi Mai Petur Karofi, said the attackers operated for about an hour before fleeing with the woman after killing her husband.
He described the incident as devastating, adding that residents were confused and uncertain about what could happen next.
Amid fears of further attacks, some residents have reportedly fled to Dutsin-Ma town, located about 12 kilometres away.
Residents of Baggagadi, Radda and Kuki communities in Dutsin-Ma and Charanchi local government areas have also called on security agencies to take urgent action to protect lives and property.
A resident of Kuki, Hassan Yusuf, alleged that suspected bandits operating from neighbouring Matazu Local Government Area had been terrorising communities in the area for weeks.
When contacted, the Katsina State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Sadik Aliyu, said he would verify the report and call back.
However, he had yet to respond as of the time the report was filed.
The Katsina State Government and security agencies had also not issued official statements on the reported incidents.
