Suspected bandits have reportedly launched another attack in Kano State, killing one person and abducting the chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rogo Local Government Area.
The latest attack was said to have occurred in Beli village in the early hours of Tuesday when armed men stormed the community and fired indiscriminately.
Sources said the attackers invaded the home of the local APC chairman, Alhaji Audu Fanka Salisu Yahaya, forced their way into the building and took him away.
Yahaya is reportedly a close associate of the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Ismail Falgore, who hails from the area.
During the operation, the gunmen allegedly shot and killed a young resident believed to be under 25 years old, while other members of the community sustained gunshot injuries.
Residents have taken to social media to raise alarm over the worsening security situation and appeal to security agencies and government authorities to intervene.
The incident is said to be the third attack reported in parts of Kano State within three days.

On Sunday, suspected bandits reportedly attacked Chiromawa community in Garin Malam Local Government Area, killing three people and abducting an elderly resident, who was later reported to have escaped from captivity.
The attackers allegedly struck again on Monday night in Rantan community in Bebeji Local Government Area, where two people were reportedly killed.
The fresh attack in Beli has heightened concerns among residents over the growing wave of violence in parts of the state.
Security agencies had yet to issue an official statement on the reported incidents as of the time of filing this report.
