
Suspected thugs on Monday unleashed chaos at the popular mobile phone market located at Farm Centre in Kano, leaving several traders injured and valuables stolen.
The attackers, described as mostly young men, reportedly stormed the bustling market in broad daylight, causing panic among traders, customers, and passersby.
Witnesses said the hoodlums wielded sharp weapons, assaulting individuals while forcefully seizing mobile phones and other items.
The incident occurred near Yoyo Plaza, a well-known section of the market recognized for intense phone trading activities.

According to an eyewitness, the assailants were allegedly linked to a political gathering held close to the market, although authorities have yet to officially confirm this claim.
Security operatives swiftly responded to the situation. Armed police officers were deployed to the scene and successfully dispersed the attackers before the violence could escalate further.
While no deaths have been confirmed as of the time of this report, multiple victims sustained varying degrees of injuries during the attack.
Efforts to reach the Kano State Police Command’s spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna, proved unsuccessful, as calls and messages sent to him were not answered.
Authorities are expected to provide further updates as investigations into the incident continue.
