Manchester United legend Gary Neville says Michael Carrick should be appointed permanent manager, arguing he will bring stability to Old Trafford after guiding the club to Champions League qualification.
Carrick steered United to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Liverpool on Sunday, a result that secured their Champions League spot.
Since replacing Ruben Amorim in January, Carrick has won 10 of his 14 matches in charge.

“No one else is being seriously linked with the job. He’s put himself in pole position with what he’s accomplished,” Neville told Sky Sports after the match.
“Man Utd need some stability. They have not had that for the last few years, but he’ll bring that in the sense that everyone trusts him.”
Neville believes Carrick has become the frontrunner for the role following United’s turnaround under his leadership.
