Aba, Abia State A tragic incident has rocked residents of Aba following the gruesome killing of a middle-aged man by an angry mob after he allegedly caused the death of one of his children and severely injured another.
The incident, which occurred earlier this week in the Ogbor Hill area of Aba, reportedly involved a man in his early 40s, said to be a native of Obingwa Local Government Area but residing in Umuobe Phase II, Ovom.
According to eyewitness accounts, the man had a heated altercation with his wife, who is reportedly a nursing mother. During the dispute, he allegedly threatened to do something unforgettable.
As tensions escalated, their children ran to the balcony of their apartment located on the top floor of a two-storey building. In a shocking turn of events, the man reportedly rushed towards them and threw one child off the balcony, resulting in fatal injuries.
He allegedly proceeded to throw a second child from the same height, leaving the child critically injured. The man was said to have attempted to take a third child from his wife, who resisted his actions.

After failing to carry out the act on the third child, the man reportedly jumped from the building himself, sustaining injuries. He then attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by an enraged mob that had gathered.
The mob allegedly attacked and killed him on the spot.
The injured child was rushed to a nearby hospital and is currently receiving treatment, while the deceased child and the man’s body have been deposited in a mortuary.
Authorities are yet to release an official statement regarding the incident as investigations are expected to commence.
