German goalkeeping legend Manuel Neuer has signed a one-year contract extension with Bayern Munich, keeping him at the Bundesliga champions until 2027.
The 40-year-old shot-stopper, whose previous deal was due to expire in the summer, will now continue his long-standing journey with the Bavarian giants, stretching his stay to an impressive 16 years at the club.

Neuer said the decision followed careful reflection but insisted his motivation to compete at the highest level remains strong.
“It was a clear decision after taking some time to reflect,” he said. “All the conditions are met here: with this team we can beat any opponent.”
Widely regarded as one of the greatest goalkeepers in football history, Neuer has enjoyed a trophy-filled career at Bayern since joining from Schalke in 2011.
During his time at the club, he has won multiple Bundesliga titles, two UEFA Champions League trophies, and several domestic cups.
Reports suggest Bayern will manage his playing time more carefully in the upcoming season as part of a transition plan, allowing younger goalkeepers more opportunities while still relying on Neuer’s experience in key matches.
The club has also extended the contract of veteran goalkeeper Sven Ulreich, further strengthening depth in the position.
Neuer, a 2014 FIFA World Cup winner with Germany, continues to be a key figure at Bayern both on and off the pitch as the club looks to maintain its dominance in German football and compete strongly in Europe.
