Afrobeats star KCee has urged people to show love and appreciation to others while they are still alive, following the death of actor Alex Ekubo.
Ekubo reportedly passed away on Monday at the age of 40 after battling cancer. Reacting to the news, KCee shared an emotional message on Instagram, criticizing the culture of celebrating people only after their death instead of supporting them during difficult moments.
The singer said many people wait until funerals to express admiration, post tributes, or share heartfelt words, while remaining silent when individuals are struggling, building their careers, or facing personal challenges.
He encouraged people to openly appreciate their loved ones, friends, colleagues, and neighbours while they are still alive. According to him, simple acts such as checking on someone’s mental health, supporting their businesses, sharing their work, and offering words of encouragement can make a significant difference.
