
Residents of communities in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State have been thrown into mourning after suspected bandits launched fresh attacks that left at least three people dead and several others abducted.
The attacks reportedly occurred between Saturday night and Sunday in Kurmin Gwaza and Sabon Gari Gantan communities in Southern Kaduna.
According to local sources, the armed attackers stormed the villages and opened fire on residents, causing panic as many people fled for safety.
In Kurmin Gwaza, two residents were said to have been killed during the invasion, while more than seven others were reportedly abducted by the gunmen.
Several victims also sustained gunshot injuries and were taken to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
A similar incident was reported in Sabon Gari Gantan, where one person was confirmed dead after the attackers invaded the community.
Some residents were also injured during the assault, with reports indicating that a number of the victims remain in critical condition at a nearby hospital.

Residents described the attacks as sudden and violent, alleging that the gunmen operated for an extended period without immediate intervention from security personnel.
The latest violence has increased fear among residents of the affected communities, many of whom are calling for stronger security presence and urgent government action to address recurring attacks in Southern Kaduna.
At the time of the report, some injured victims were still receiving treatment, while efforts were ongoing to determine the exact number and identities of those abducted.
Community leaders were also said to be gathering further details about the incidents as concerns continue to grow over insecurity in the region.
Some residents accused authorities of failing to adequately address or publicise the repeated attacks, urging both the state and federal governments to take decisive measures to protect lives and property in the area.
