
The Nigeria Police Force in Zamfara State has rescued two kidnap victims after intercepting a consignment of petrol allegedly being transported to armed bandits as part of a ransom arrangement.
The operation reportedly began when police operatives intercepted a man carrying 10 jerrycans of petrol, which investigators believe were intended for kidnappers demanding the fuel in exchange for the release of his father and brother.
Following the seizure, security personnel launched a coordinated operation into the forest where the victims were being held. The officers confronted the suspected kidnappers and successfully secured the safe rescue of the two abductees.

The development was disclosed by security analyst Bakatsine in a post on X, where he praised the professionalism and bravery of the police and other security pmfara ersonnel involved in the operation.
The successful rescue underscores ongoing efforts by security agencies to disrupt kidnapping networks and combat banditry across Zamfara State, where criminal activities have remained a major security challenge.
