
Benue protesters stormed the Och’Idoma’s palace on Sunday, carrying the bodies o byf victims killed in a fresh attack on communities in Otukpo Local Government Area of the state.
The demonstrators marched to the palace of the Och’Idoma, His Royal Majesty Agabaidu Elaigwu John Odogbo, following separate attacks by suspected armed herders that left more than 10 people dead in two communities.
The protesters, mostly youths, said they were expressing their anger over the persistent killings in Benue South and called on the Benue State Government, the Federal Government and security agencies to take urgent action to end the violence.

During the protest, mourners decried the continued bloodshed, saying residents should not be forced to abandon their ancestral homes because of insecurity. They also expressed frustration over what they described as the failure of political leaders to provide lasting solutions to the crisis.
The latest attack has renewed concerns over the security situation in Benue State, where repeated attacks have resulted in deaths, displacement and destruction of property.
Security agencies are yet to announce any arrests in connection with the latest incident as residents continue to demand stronger measures to protect lives and communities.
