Troops of the 1 Brigade Counter-Terrorism Force 7 have secured the Tsafe–Yankuzo road in Tsafe Local Government Area, Zamfara State, following a reported terrorist attack on Saturday.
Military sources said the troops were deployed at about 11:15 a.m. on June 21 after intelligence indicated that armed men had intercepted a vehicle traveling from Tsafe Market to Yankuzo.
The unit moved quickly to engage the attackers and secure the route. By the time they arrived, the terrorists had fled and no direct contact was made.
