Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have successfully thwarted an attempted terrorist infiltration of a military base in Borno State and safely evacuated 21 female students following credible intelligence of a planned attack.
The development was contained in an operational report released on Monday and made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
According to the report, troops of the 3 Battalion stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Logomani detected suspected ISWAP/JAS fighters attempting to surround their position using closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance.
The troops swiftly engaged the insurgents, forcing them to retreat before executing their plan.
In a related operation, troops under Sector 3 acted on intelligence that seven suspected terrorists armed with improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were spotted near the Water Board Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp in Monguno.
As a precautionary measure, 21 female students residing in a nearby hostel were evacuated to Kinnasara Barracks.
During the evacuation, three of the students reportedly suffered seizures but were promptly treated and stabilised at a hospital.

Security presence in the area has since been reinforced to prevent further threats.
Elsewhere, troops of the 115 Task Force Battalion, in collaboration with local hunters, engaged suspected terrorists at Surajo village in Askira/Uba Local Government Area. The attackers fled, abandoning three bicycles and two coolers.
In Adamawa State, troops of the 247 Reconnaissance Battalion, alongside local hunters, arrested a suspected cross-border kidnapper in Gaya, Mubi South Local Government Area.
The suspect reportedly confessed to being part of a kidnapping syndicate operating from the Solere Forest in Cameroon, carrying out abductions across the border.
Similarly, troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA repelled an attack along the Wasagu–Ayu Road in Kebbi State, forcing the assailants to flee and abandon two motorcycles.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining ongoing operations aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and ensuring the safety of civilians across affected regions.
