
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have apprehended a 23-year-old man suspected of supplying fuel to Boko Haram/ISWAP insurgents during a targeted operation in Borno State.
The arrest was carried out on July 15, 2026, at about 3:00 p.m. in Gubio Local Government Area by personnel of the 149 Battalion, working alongside members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF). The operation followed credible intelligence reports on terrorist logistics activities within the region.
The suspect, identified as Ali Umar, was intercepted along the Binduldul–Kareto axis, an area known for insurgent movement. Security sources revealed that he was allegedly engaged in transporting supplies to terrorist elements operating in the area.

Items recovered from him include a Volkswagen Golf vehicle with registration number BO KGG 268AA and a Tecno mobile phone.
During preliminary interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to supplying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, to members of Boko Haram/ISWAP.
He is currently in military custody as investigations continue.
Security authorities noted that the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts by Operation HADIN KAI to disrupt terrorist supply chains and dismantle logistics networks sustaining insurgency in Nigeria’s North-East region.
