A 40-year-old businessman, identified as Ogbeni Goggo, has reportedly died in Delta State amid financial difficulties linked to a failed business venture and an alleged N1.8 million loan burden.
The incident reportedly occurred around the Ebrumede/DSC Roundabout area in Uvwie Local Government Area.
Sources said Goggo had been struggling financially following the collapse of his business and was allegedly under pressure to repay the loan. He was also said to have experienced emotional distress in the period leading up to his death.
According to reports, the businessman sent messages to some friends and relatives indicating that he was overwhelmed and no longer wished to continue living.
Concerned friends and family members reportedly made efforts to reach him by telephone but were unsuccessful. His failure to return home later caused further concern, prompting his family to begin searching for him.

His wife subsequently reported him missing at the Ebrumede Police Station. Police officers reportedly showed her a photograph of a man whose body had been recovered near the Ebrumede Flyover Roundabout, and she identified him as her husband.
The deceased, who had reportedly been married for three years and had no children, was later taken to a mortuary.
Confirming the incident, Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, said the death had been confirmed but added that the reasons behind the alleged suicide could not be established.
The tragic incident has renewed concerns about the impact of financial hardship, debt and emotional distress on people facing difficult economic conditions.
