The Delta State Police Command has arrested six suspected drug dealers and recovered quantities of Tramadol, Rohypnol and other suspected illicit substances during a raid in Agbor.
The suspects were arrested by operatives of the Department of Operations while conducting a routine patrol along Alegwe Street, off Owa Road, Agbor, following credible intelligence about a store allegedly being used for the sale and distribution of illicit drugs.
The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed the development in a statement issued in Warri.
According to Edafe, the operation was carried out in line with the directive of the Commissioner of Police, CP Samuel Erale, to intensify efforts against the distribution and sale of illicit drugs across the state.
Six suspects were arrested during the operation. They were identified as Anabel Haruna, 18; Terhemen Faith, 19; Kaityo Abigail, 23; Iorkee Eunice, 26; Osomuri Emmanuel, 31; and a 15-year-old female juvenile whose identity was withheld.

The police said a subsequent search of a vehicle linked to the suspects led to the recovery of quantities of Tramadol, Rohypnol and other suspected illicit substances.
The suspects and recovered exhibits are currently in police custody as investigations continue.
The Commissioner of Police, Samuel Erale, warned that the command would continue to identify and dismantle drug distribution networks operating across Delta State.
He also directed police operatives to intensify intelligence gathering and enforcement against drug dealers and their networks, stressing that illicit drug trafficking contributes to violent crime and other forms of criminality.
The command assured residents that it would not allow Delta State to become a safe haven for illicit drug trade or other criminal enterprises.
