One worker has been trapped beneath the rubble after a storey building collapsed during manual demolition on Adedoyin Street, Ijegun, Ikotun, in the Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said it received a distress call at about 1:44 p.m. on Monday, October 26, and immediately deployed its response team to the scene.
According to the agency, another worker sustained a hand injury and had already been taken to a hospital before emergency responders arrived.
LASEMA, in collaboration with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and the Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), commenced a coordinated search-and-rescue operation to locate the trapped worker.
The affected area was cordoned off to prevent further danger as rescue efforts continued.

Motorists were also advised to avoid reckless driving and maintain their vehicles regularly, while residents were encouraged to report emergencies through the state’s toll-free emergency lines.
