Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have successfully disrupted a suspected cult initiation ceremony in Isara-Remo, arresting 30 individuals during a coordinated raid on an uncompleted building allegedly used for the gathering.
According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the operation was carried out by the Violent Crime Response Unit in collaboration with officers from the Isara Area Command and Isara Division, following actionable intelligence on the illegal assembly.
The suspects were reportedly gathered at the location for cult-related activities, including initiation rites, consumption of alcoholic substances, chanting, and other unlawful conduct. Items recovered from the scene include four abandoned vehicles, a jackknife, a local drum, a “sekere” (rattle), and bottles suspected to have contained alcohol used during the event.
