The Yobe State Police Command has arrested three suspected vandals and recovered stolen power cables, a tricycle, and a motorcycle during an operation aimed at protecting critical public infrastructure in the state.
The arrests followed an intelligence-led operation by operatives of the Gashua Area Command, who intercepted a 27-year-old suspect allegedly in possession of two large bundles of suspected stolen power cables.
Following the initial arrest, investigators tracked down two additional suspects believed to have been involved in the vandalism operation.

During the operation, police also recovered a tricycle allegedly used to transport the stolen cables and an unregistered motorcycle suspected to have been used by the group.
The command said investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend other members of the suspected syndicate who remain at large. Authorities are also working to determine the source and ownership of the recovered items.
The police reiterated their commitment to safeguarding public infrastructure and called on residents to continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information to help combat vandalism and other criminal activities across Yobe State.
