
Tragedy struck along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway on Wednesday evening as three persons lost their lives in a fatal crash involving an articulated truck and a motorcycle at the Papalanto axis.
The accident, which occurred around 6:30 p.m. near Ilaro, involved a motorcycle carrying three passengers and a truck loaded with turkeys.
The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) confirmed the incident through its spokesperson, Babatunde Akinbiyi.

According to Akinbiyi, the motorcycle rider was transporting two passengers from Ilaro to Papalanto when he attempted to overtake a vehicle towing another after passing the truck.
In the process, the motorcycle was struck by the truck and crushed against the towing vehicles.
All three occupants of the motorcycle sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have urged road users to exercise caution, especially when overtaking on busy highways, to prevent avoidable tragedies.
