The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 35-year-old man suspected of belonging to a kidnapping and cattle-rustling syndicate operating across Kano, Katsina and Kaduna states.
The suspect, identified as Habibu Bello from Kunkumi Town in Kaduna State, was arrested on September 14 during an intelligence-led operation by the Anti-Kidnapping Squad.
Police said investigations following his arrest led to the detention of another suspected syndicate member identified as Mudam of Kwanar Dangora.
According to the command, Bello allegedly confessed to involvement in several kidnapping operations, including the abduction of Hajiya Binta of Kwanar Dangora, for which a reported ₦20 million ransom was paid. He was also allegedly linked to another kidnapping incident in Gwarzo Local Government Area and cattle-rustling activities across the three states.
