
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested five suspects in connection with the abduction of two school children in Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
The suspects were apprehended by the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad following intelligence-led operations after the victims were reportedly kidnapped on their way to school and later released after ransom was paid.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the victims two brothers aged 10 and 5 were abducted on May 12, 2026, in the Jerry Sawmill area of Ore.
Their father reported the incident to the police, prompting an immediate investigation.
Acting on technical intelligence and tracking analysis, operatives traced the suspects to the Alaba area of Ore, where two of them were first arrested. Further investigations led to the arrest of three additional members of the alleged kidnapping gang.
The police also recovered a portion of the ransom money, believed to be ₦251,000, during the operation.
The command stated that efforts are ongoing to track down other fleeing members of the syndicate and recover more evidence connected to the crime.

It also confirmed that the suspects have made confessional statements detailing their roles in the kidnapping.
The Commissioner of Police, Felix Ohagwu, commended the operatives for the successful operation, describing it as a result of effective intelligence gathering and professionalism.
He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intensifying the fight against kidnapping and other violent crimes across the state, assuring residents of improved security.
The suspects are expected to be charged to court upon the completion of investigations.
