Troops of Sector 1 under Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have rescued three kidnapped victims after foiling an abduction attempt in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.
The operation followed credible intelligence received by soldiers stationed at the SAI Outpost about an ongoing kidnapping in Sai community on the afternoon of July 13.

Acting swiftly on the information, the troops mobilised to the area and intercepted the suspected kidnappers as they attempted to flee with their captives. A gun battle ensued between the security personnel and the armed suspects.
Overwhelmed by the troops’ superior firepower, the kidnappers abandoned the three victims and escaped into nearby bushes.
The rescued victims were later identified and safely reunited with their families after preliminary profiling by security operatives.
Security forces have since launched a manhunt to apprehend the fleeing suspects, while Operation Whirl Stroke continues its intensified operations to combat kidnapping and other criminal activities across Benue State.
