Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on three local government areas following renewed killings and emerging security concerns.
The affected areas are Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu Local Government Areas.
The curfew, which began on Monday, September 21, 2026, restricts movement between 6pm and 6am and will remain in place until further notice.
The state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Joyce Ramnap, announced the directive in a statement on Monday.
According to the state government, the measure was introduced to enable security agencies to restore calm, protect residents and prevent further deterioration of law and order in the affected communities.

Residents in the three LGAs were advised to comply with the restriction and adjust their commercial, agricultural and personal activities accordingly.
The government also directed security personnel to strictly enforce the curfew and an immediate ban on the use of motorcycles across the affected areas.
It assured law-abiding residents that security agencies would carry out the enforcement professionally while working to stabilise the situation.
The curfew will remain in effect pending an improvement in the security situation across the three local government areas.
