Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, have arrested four suspected illicit drug dealers in Gaida, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.
The suspects were apprehended during a covert operation carried out by the NSCDC Counter-Terrorism Unit following credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, disclosed the arrests in a statement made available to journalists on Monday.
The suspects were identified as Abubakar Abdullahi, 35; Rabiu Baffa, 25; Aminu Lawan, 35; and Ibrahim Idris, 33, all residents of Gaida.
Items recovered during the operation included four sachets of Pregabalin 300mg capsules, commonly known as “PG”; dozens of Diazepam tablets, locally called “Fara”; three tubes of Oshin Solution, also known as “Sholisho”; as well as three large packs and 20 parcels of suspected marijuana.

The Kano State NSCDC Commandant, Mohammed Agalama, warned members of the public, particularly youths, against the sale, distribution and abuse of illicit drugs.
Agalama described drug abuse as a major threat to public safety and the wellbeing of society, urging residents to provide security agencies with credible information about suspected drug-related activities.
The NSCDC said the suspects and recovered exhibits would be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano State Command, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The command also reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with other security agencies to combat drug-related offences and activities capable of threatening peace and security in Kano State.
