Janet Bassey, a survivor of a suspected “one-chance” robbery in Abuja, has recounted the terrifying ordeal she allegedly suffered after entering a vehicle occupied by two men.
Speaking during an interview, Bassey said she entered the vehicle with the two men before one of them allegedly brought out a gun, slapped her, blindfolded her and tied her hands.
According to her, the situation became more frightening after the vehicle stopped at a quiet location.
Bassey alleged that one of the men subsequently attempted to sexually assault her. She said she resisted the alleged assault, prompting the man to threaten her with further sexual violence if she refused to cooperate.
“He was telling me that if I don’t cooperate… they will take me to where there will be more guys,” she said.
Bassey further alleged that the men threatened to kill her and dismember her body if she failed to comply with their demands.
The survivor said she was left terrified as the men allegedly continued to threaten her during the ordeal.
She was eventually abandoned at an undisclosed location, bringing an end to what she described as a traumatic encounter.
