The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of four suspects in connection with a violent farmers–herders clash that left eight people dead in Gulma town, Argungu Local Government Area of the state.
The incident, which occurred earlier this week, was reportedly sparked by the alleged killing of a farmer. The victim was said to have been stabbed to death by a herder while working on his farmland, triggering outrage among members of the farming community.
In what authorities described as a reprisal attack, some aggrieved farmers allegedly mobilized and stormed nearby Fulani settlements. The retaliatory violence resulted in multiple casualties and heightened tension in the area.
