Heavy rainfall has caused significant damage to key road networks in Kebbi State, particularly in Dandi Local Government Area, disrupting transportation and daily activities in affected communities.
The impacted roads include the Kingakwai–Fana–Dakingari Road and the Fana Township Road, both of which serve as vital links between Fana town and surrounding communities.
The downpour reportedly triggered severe erosion and flooding, leaving several sections of the roads in deplorable condition.
Governor Nasir Idris visited the affected areas on Thursday to assess the extent of the damage. He was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Works and members of the State House of Assembly representing the area.

Governor Idris assured residents that the state government would take immediate steps to restore the damaged roads and improve infrastructure resilience across flood-prone communities.
In a related development, the governor also paid a condolence visit to Kamba town following the death of the wife of a former Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, describing the loss as a painful moment for the community.
