
Fear has gripped communities in Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State following a fresh attack by suspected bandits that reportedly forced women, children and elderly residents to flee their homes.
The affected communities include Ungushi, Maikurfuna and Gwandi, with displaced residents reportedly arriving in Kebbe town from Saturday night.
According to reports Bakatsine, many of the residents who escaped the attacks were forced to spend the night in the rain after fleeing their communities for safety.
The attackers reportedly rustled more than 300 cattle and seven camels from Ungushi and Gwandi during the incident.
Several men were also reportedly killed, although the exact number of casualties remained unclear as of the time of the report.
Two victims, identified as Usman Umar Margai and Sani Abdullahi Gwandi, were reportedly receiving treatment at the General Hospital after sustaining gunshot injuries.

The attack was preceded by an alert on Saturday night that suspected bandits had invaded Ungushi community, with a call for security intervention in the area.
More displaced residents were reportedly still arriving in Kebbe on Sunday morning as the situation continued to cause concern among residents.
The latest incident adds to the growing wave of attacks and displacement affecting rural communities across parts of northern Nigeria, where armed groups have continued to target residents, abduct people and rustle livestock.
Residents are now calling for stronger security measures to protect communities and prevent further attacks.
