The Kebbi State Police Command has arrested 13 suspects linked to terrorism, banditry, kidnapping, and the illegal possession of firearms over the past month.
Commissioner of Police Umar Hadejia announced the breakthrough on Wednesday during a press briefing in Birnin Kebbi, detailing the recent security operations and strategic achievements recorded by the command.
According to Hadejia, the successful operations were driven by intelligence-led policing, coordinated tactical raids, and robust collaboration with sister security agencies, local vigilantes, and the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF).
Among those apprehended were three suspected members of the Mamudawa/Boko Haram group, intercepted by the Police Mobile Force along the Illo-Lolo Road in Bagudo Local Government Area on June 5.
The suspects, identified as Muhammadu Bandi, Aliyu Abubakar, and Muhammadu Abubakar, were caught on a motorcycle while allegedly attempting to procure food supplies for logistics.
Preliminary investigations have linked them to movements surrounding the June 4 attack that claimed the lives of three Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) personnel in Illo.

In a separate crackdown on June 7, police operatives intercepted four suspected Lakurawa bandits along the Ka’oje-Bakin Ruwa Road in Bagudo.
The suspects—Haruna Abubakar, Abubakar Lawali, Anme Shehu, and Yahaya Shehu—are currently under investigation for their alleged involvement in armed banditry within the SODA Forest.
The command also intensified its crackdown on terror logistics and informants, arresting Murtala Sani in Argungu Local Government Area for allegedly supplying food and soft drinks to Lakurawa terrorists.
Another suspected informant, Ayuba Ibrahim, was cornered in Bagudo on June 11, leading to the recovery of a pump-action rifle and three live cartridges. Additionally, a 42-year-old man, Aliyu Jibrin, was caught with a locally made pistol during a routine patrol at the Makera Market.
Commissioner Hadejia credited these milestones to the relentless dedication of his officers and the vital intelligence provided by the Department of State Services (DSS) and members of the public. Assuring citizens that all tips would be treated with strict confidentiality.
He urged residents to remain vigilant and continue partnering with law enforcement to sustain peace across Kebbi State.
