The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
A dispatch rider is feared dead following a tragic hit-and-run accident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, specifically at the Magboro Bridge axis.
The incident reportedly occurred around 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday when an unidentified driver, allegedly driving against traffic, struck the rider and fled the scene immediately, leaving the victim critically injured.
Eyewitnesses at the scene described the accident as sudden and distressing. By the time concerned residents and passersby intervened, the victim had succumbed to his injuries.
Sympathisers moved the body from the middle of the road to the sidewalk and covered it with a cloth out of respect and to prevent further accidents.
A witness identified simply as Michael revealed that efforts to pursue the fleeing driver were unsuccessful due to a lack of immediate transportation.
He also clarified that the vehicle involved was a car, not a heavy-duty truck as initially speculated.
