
At least six persons have been confirmed dead and three others injured following coordinated attacks by suspected gunmen on several communities in Plateau State.
The incidents, which occurred across Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas, have heightened tension in the region, with residents describing the attacks as sudden and devastating.
According to reports, the violence began on Saturday in Ta-Hoss community of Riyom LGA, where farmers were attacked on their farmland. Two victims were confirmed dead, while another sustained critical injuries.
Later that same day, gunmen reportedly invaded Sabon Layi in Barkin Ladi LGA, killing three individuals in the community.

The attacks continued into the early hours of Sunday, when another resident was killed in Kwi district, also in Riyom LGA.
Local sources say the repeated assaults have forced many residents to flee their homes, raising fresh concerns over safety and security in rural communities across the state.
Community leaders have condemned the attacks, describing them as a sustained pattern of violence targeting innocent civilians, particularly farmers.
They have called on security agencies to intensify operations, dismantle criminal hideouts, and take proactive steps to prevent further loss of lives.
As of the time of this report, authorities are yet to release an official statement on the incidents.
