A joint operation by troops of the Nigerian Army’s 17 Brigade and operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has led to the arrest of six suspected drug traffickers in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The operation was carried out on June 24 in Rugoji Village as part of ongoing efforts to curb the circulation of illicit drugs and disrupt criminal activities in the area.
According to security sources, the joint team raided a suspected drug distribution point and apprehended six individuals believed to be involved in trafficking illegal substances. During the operation, officers recovered approximately 4.0 grams of a substance suspected to be cannabis and 3.5 grams of tramadol.
Preliminary investigations suggest the suspects were allegedly supplying hard drugs and other illicit substances to terrorist groups and criminal elements operating in Kafur and surrounding communities.
