Suspected bandits have abducted the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman of Rogo Local Government Area of Kano State, Abdullahi Fanka Beli, following a late-night attack on Beli community.
The attack reportedly occurred around 1 a.m. on Tuesday when the gunmen invaded the community and opened fire before making their way to Beli’s residence.
According to reports, the attackers forced their way into the house, abducted the APC chairman and fled the community.
A resident was reportedly killed during the attack, while several others sustained gunshot injuries. The reported casualty figures, however, could not be independently verified.
Beli is said to be a close associate of the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Ismail Falgore, who also hails from Rogo Local Government Area.

The incident is reportedly the third bandit attack recorded in communities across Kano State within three days.
On Sunday, gunmen reportedly attacked Chiromawa in Garun Malam Local Government Area, killing three people and abducting an elderly resident who later escaped.
Another attack was reported on Monday night in Rantan community, Bebeji Local Government Area, where two residents, including APC ward chairman Garba Buba, were reportedly killed.
The attacks have heightened security concerns among residents of rural communities in the affected areas, with calls for stronger security measures to prevent further killings and abductions.
As of the time of filing this report, the Kano State Police Command and other security agencies had not officially confirmed the reported abduction of Beli or provided details on efforts to rescue him.
