A woman was rescued after she allegedly jumped into the Lagos Lagoon from Carter Bridge in Lagos on Tuesday, prompting a swift response from nearby boat operators.
The incident occurred at the Idumota section of the bridge on the afternoon of August 4. According to eyewitnesses, the woman entered the lagoon before local boat operators quickly moved to the scene and successfully pulled her out of the water alive.
A video circulating on social media showed the woman sitting inside a rescue boat shortly after she was brought to safety. She appeared visibly distressed as rescuers and onlookers monitored her condition.
