Big Brother Naija Season 11 Head of House, Chimsom Chuka, has stirred widespread reactions after instructing fellow housemates to begin a meeting with a prayer.
The Anambra-born pharmacist and actor, who currently holds the HOH title, made the directive during a house gathering, saying, “One person should pray for us… quickly,” before asserting his authority with, “It is my meeting; I decide what happens,” following murmurs from some housemates.
A video of the moment has since gone viral, igniting mixed reactions among viewers. While some criticized the move as inappropriate for a reality TV setting, others defended it as a reflection of common cultural practices in Nigeria, where meetings often begin with prayers.
Since assuming leadership, Chimsom has maintained a strict and structured approach in the house. He has emphasized punctuality, organized frequent meetings, addressed hygiene concerns, and warned housemates about possible reports to Big Brother over rule violations.

However, his leadership style has divided opinions. Critics argue that he is overly controlling and risks making the show less entertaining, while supporters describe him as disciplined and organized.
On social media platform X, several viewers expressed dissatisfaction. Some questioned the inclusion of religious practices in a secular entertainment show, while others argued that such decisions should not be imposed on individuals with different beliefs.
Conversely, some viewers defended Chimsom, stating that his request was not exclusive to any religion and reflected everyday social norms in many Nigerian settings. They also noted that housemates could choose whether or not to participate.
The incident has further intensified discussions around leadership, personal beliefs, and group dynamics in the BBNaija house, making Chimsom one of the most talked-about contestants of the season so far.
