The Imo State Police Command has arrested two suspects over the killing of a police Inspector, Henry Effiong, who was attached as a security aide to the state Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Investment, Chief Rex Anunobi.
Effiong was reportedly found dead at the commissioner’s residence in Owerri on Monday, shortly after the incident was reported.
Police spokesperson, DSP Henry Okoye, said the two suspects, identified as 31-year-old Olivia Patrick and 25-year-old ThankGod Maurice, were arrested at the scene.
The police have also launched a manhunt for other suspects allegedly connected to the incident.

According to the command, the Commissioner of Police, Imo State, Audu Garba Bosso, has ordered a thorough investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the killing and ensure that anyone found culpable is prosecuted.
The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation, while the remains of the deceased officer have been deposited at a mortuary.
Police authorities urged members of the public to remain vigilant and provide credible information that could assist the investigation.
