Two separate fire outbreaks in Lagos State have destroyed goods and property worth millions of naira, according to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
The first incident occurred in the early hours of Monday at Adamo Bus Stop, Ikorodu, where a fire suspected to have started from faulty electrical wiring spread from a hairdressing shop to two adjoining shops.
Three shops were affected, with goods and other property destroyed. Emergency responders from LASEMA and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Imota, were able to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading further. No death or injury was recorded.
Another fire outbreak was reported the same morning at 19 Olatunde Onimole Street, around Bakery Bus Stop, Surulere.

Two shops, one dealing in furniture and the other in provisions, were completely razed along with their contents. The cause of the fire had not been determined at the time of the report.
LASEMA said no casualty was recorded in the Surulere incident either.
The agency also responded to several road emergencies across Lagos, including a truck carrying soft drinks that broke down at Olupese Bus Stop, a commercial bus that overturned on the Third Mainland Bridge following a reported tyre burst, and a tanker that developed a mechanical fault on Ilupeju Road.
LASEMA urged residents to prioritise proper vehicle maintenance and adhere strictly to electrical safety standards to prevent avoidable emergencies.
