The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Adebiri over the alleged killing of a housekeeper, Oje Ejeh, in the Mowe-Ofada area of the state.
Ejeh, popularly known as Mike, was a graduate of Benue State University and worked as a housekeeper for a Lagos-based real estate company.
The incident reportedly occurred on August 26 at Bluestone Treasure Estate, where Ejeh had gone to clean and prepare a property ahead of an inspection by prospective buyers.
According to the deceased’s brother, Alexander Oluji, Ejeh arrived at the property and contacted him to say he was waiting for the prospective clients.
While waiting, Ejeh reportedly interacted with the four-year-old son of a resident living in a neighbouring property.
Oluji alleged that after Ejeh returned from cleaning the apartment, Adebiri picked up a bamboo stick and struck him on the head, causing him to collapse.
He was subsequently rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following the incident, the suspect allegedly fled the area. Oluji said some residents became angry and attempted to attack or destroy his property before others intervened.
The suspect’s wife was also reportedly arrested before Adebiri was eventually apprehended by the police.
Confirming the arrest, the Ogun State Police Command, through its Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the suspect was in custody and that investigations were ongoing.
“The command is very much aware of this case and the suspect has been arrested, while investigation is currently ongoing to ascertain the facts of the case for possible prosecution,” Babaseyi stated.
The deceased’s family has called for justice, describing Ejeh as a young graduate who was working hard to make a living after completing his studies.
The police said further investigation would determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and guide possible prosecution.
