Unknown gunmen have abducted an NKST pastor, Rev. Dr. Samuel Gbinde, along with two members of his congregation during an attack on a church in Benue State.
The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Tuesday when the armed men invaded the pastor’s residence within the NKST Church premises in Andyar, located in the Ishan Classis area of the state. The assailants took the cleric and the two church members to an unknown destination.
Church authorities confirmed the abduction and described the attack as unfortunate. They called on Christians and members of the public to pray for the safe and unconditional release of the victims.

In a statement issued by the church’s General Secretary, Rev. Dr. T. A. Targba, the denomination expressed sympathy to the affected families and members of the Andyar congregation, while praying for strength and comfort during the difficult period.
The church also appealed to security agencies, as well as the Benue State and Federal Governments, to intensify efforts to rescue the abducted victims and ensure those responsible for the attack are arrested and prosecuted.
It further urged authorities to adopt more proactive measures to tackle kidnapping and other security challenges, emphasizing the need to prevent such crimes before they occur.
Reaffirming its faith, the church expressed confidence that Rev. Dr. Gbinde, the two congregants, and others currently in captivity would return home safely. It also prayed for lasting peace and improved security across Nigeria.
